Our Story

Long Valley Solar Shades was founded in 2005 in Valley County, Idaho, by Chris and Jill Yensen. Chris is Idaho born and bred, with a background as a radio DJ/producer and business owner. When in 1998, LA girl Jill chose to vacation in the small resort town of McCall, Idaho, both of their lives changed instantly. Jill made the big transition from her career in the LA entertainment biz to small town life in McCall, and they married and went into business together. In October 2021 the tables turned, and they relocated to Jill’s old stomping grounds in Los Angeles.

LVSS offers custom consultation, fabrication and installation of quality window treatments for the greater LA area. They specialize in solar shades, but can tackle any window treatment job from drapes to wood shutters and blinds, motorized installations to roller shades, residential to commercial. Jill is the design diva, while Chris covers the technical and installation side.
